An intimate 3BR villa on the western tip of St. Thomas. Savor this well-designed, comfortable home surrounded by lush, natural scenery, island-strewn ocean views, white-sand beaches, amid The Preserve at Botany Bay's tropical 350 acres.

The villa's vibrant great room and well-equipped kitchen share lofty ceilings, and sliding doors open to an expansive sun deck. The pergola-covered outdoor dining and lounge areas, as well as the salt-water infinity pool, overlook tranquil green hills and the beautiful blue sea. The villa's 3 bedrooms have spacious walk-in closets and ensuite bathrooms; the sunny and open media room has an alcove able to sleep an impromptu guest. The interior of the villa has been recently repainted, as well as several new appliances installed.

As week-long members of The Preserve at Botany Bay you enjoy gatehouse security, and the preserve’s two beaches – luminously-blue Sandy Bay with its gentle surf and pristine arc of sand, and the coral-rich Mermaid’s Chair where the Atlantic and Caribbean seas create a unique, double shoreline. Fitness buffs will enjoy the preserve’s winding roads with wonderful views. Meanwhile, the area's unhurried pace offers families and friends the chance to unwind and savor renewal times together. Please note the beaches at Botany are occasionally subject to high winds/Atlantic-wave conditions (sometimes causing sand to shift around in the bays) and making snorkeling and swimming difficult. Just 10 minutes away is the expansive, south-facing Brewers Bay Beach, suitable for snorkeling and swimming in undisturbed, calm waters.

Villa Sea and Sky is located 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from St. Thomas’ Main Street -- famous for its duty-free luxury shopping. Art galleries, grocery stores, restaurants, island attractions and nightlife extend eastward from there. Ferries to St. John and our neighboring British Virgin Islands extend from St. Thomas' eastern end.
There’s plenty to see, enjoy and do all day …then at night, savor Botany Bay’s splendid western sunsets – and the constellations which animate our nighttime skies.

Please note: this property is not a good fit for guests who are looking to party or host celebratory group events, due to the proximity of neighbors and per Botany Bay Homeowner Association (HOA) rules.

Mandated noise limits are in place (in particular, evening quiet hours from 10pm to 6am). Parking also is limited, to 2 cars (any additional must park at a distance).

Summary: The house, property, and neighborhood was beyond wonderful and nicely equipped (could have used a cookie sheet and larger family sized frying pan for making breakfast). We did have trouble with the downstairs AC units not working correctly; however, Nick, the property manager, did everything we could have expected him to do in trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The slumber party atmosphere probably only added to our fun, family memories on this beautiful island.

Summary: This was our second trip to Botany Bay. It is an exclusive gated community with two virtually private beaches. Last year Sandy Beach was amazing; however, this year the surf was so high there was no sand only a rocky shoreline and you could not swim due to the massive waves. Snorkeling was also not possible on this beach or around Mermaid’s Chair for the same reason. The views are beautiful, but since we were mainly interested in beaches, snorkeling and swimming we were forced to go to Brewers Bay Beach and St. John’s. it takes about 25 minutes round trip to Brewers Bay and it takes 3 hours round trip to get to St. John’s beaches (fairy leaves on the opposite end of St. Thomas). The mattresses were uncomfortable and there were no curtains for privacy in the bedrooms or bathrooms. The neighbor’s balcony has a decent view the back of the house leaving little privacy. The master bedroom also can be seen from this rentals own balcony area. Communication with the property manager Nick was very poor. I viewed this house several times and contacted him about the bedroom situation. It says 3 bedrooms, but then has 4 beds. I specifically told him we needed 4 bedrooms (party of 7 people). He told me it would work for us and that I should look at the online pictures. Having now seen the house I understand the bedroom situation. There are three bedrooms and a fourth bed set up in the corner of the TV room in the basement. There is no bathroom or shower associated with this fourth bed and it has no door. Anyone staying in this bed has to get permission to use one of the showers inside someone’s bedroom (very inconvenient and awkward). There is a half bath on the first level but the door does not lock. I also contacted Nick before our vacation and asked about essentials in the house. He answered about half the questions and said he would find out about the rest - never herd back from him. When we arrived Nick was not there, but left the house unlocked. When I texted him about the fourth bedroom and my disappointment he became very defensive. At that point I dropped it and had no further communication with Nick except for a short text at checkout.

Summary: The place itself was wonderful! Amazing location. And you have access to pretty much private beaches just a 5 minute drive. Note: there are only 3 real rooms and then a bed suitable for children. We had 8 adults and that was a problem. The 4th bed is not nearly as comfy as the others. There were a few maintenance things that needed to be fixed, but nothing major. Host was helpful leading up to trip, but harder to reach when we got there and check in instructions were not 100% correct. Be warned you will have no cell service at the villa most likely. You can’t beat the view and the niceness of the home. We loved the privacy and the deck for relaxing on in the evening. Pool is cold, but feels great on a warm day. If you want a place that feels safe and is nice to spend the day at during your trip, this is the place.

Summary: Was my wife and I for 5 nights. It was a great stay - we went to the beach on two different days (located inside Botany Bay) and were literally the only ones there. Half a day on the beach each time and didn't see another person. We will be back.

Summary: This was an amazing property to stay at for a week (Sat-Sat). The two best highlights: 1. parking access to Sandy Bay and Mermaids Rest. 2. Three private suites, one studio bed. Our family really loved that the pool was on the main floor with covered and open patio. The TV was downstairs with the kids suites (2) and the extra bed. The kitchen had a Brita, lots of spices and a dishwasher, so we ate in almost every meal. You are on West End, so there are no restaurants within 20 minutes, but downtown is just one wiggly road away. Nick is a great property manager, very responsive and has a team that helps with the maintenance. Pool was cleaned on Wednesday, trash picked up on Tuesday. Clean house on arrival. We really only had a few nitpicks, not enough forks to match the number of plates, no ice drawer, and no area to rinse/brush off sand at the front door or parking area. Thank you for the wonderful stay! Just to add something about the beaches... This is a gated community with public foot access only, so the beaches are almost a mile from the gate over some serious hills. We went to Sandy 5 days and had the whole beach to ourselves three times. Compare that to Coki where it was a sea of umbrellas. Only downside is no running water/bathroom at Sandy and few fish for snorkeling, but enough, and Waves :) Sandy is like a wave pool, gentle most days, but 4-6 foot waves when it is really windy. The property has chairs, umbrellas and coolers for you take with you (need a scoop shovel and longer poles for the umbrellas though).
